I find myself with a little mad money (I sold some f-work) and I'd like to improve my not-breathing-dust setup.

I'm leaning towards the Triton, as I don't have enough mad to buy the Trend Airshield Pro. I also like the built in hearing protection.

I've spent two days surfing looking for the best deal. $183 seems to be the best rate going. Anyone know differently?

I really wanted to like the Triton respirator. I like using their routers.

However, when I tried one on, I was VERY disappointed in the visor. There was so much distortion, that I felt it rendered unusable (at least for lathe work in my little shop)

I looked at two different units, same visor problem.

So, I bit the bullet and bought the Trend AirShield Pro unit. Much better for me, no distortion.

If you do find a Triton, make sure that you can return it if it doesn't work for you. You'll know almost immediately if you've got a good visor, but clarity of vision seems unlikely based on the curves of the plastic.

Good to know. It can't be much worse than the $4 HF visor I use now though.
