Not the art of Mr. Dickerman, just some bottle stoppers but I do think that they are some different ones in there. You got natural edge red mallee burl, blackwood, spalted maple, birdseye maple, mesquite and bubinga. The Ruth Niles stoppers are sweet.

Toney - great looking stoppers and photo! Just got my stoppers from Ruth a couple of days ago and managed to work my way through the process this afternoon. Lots of fun but more difficult than a hollow form - at least for me. Not to sure about that spindle stuff...

Really like the variety of wood and shapes! Nice work! Also like the composed photo! Very Pro!

Exceptional looking stoppers. A lot of nice variety mixed in. Your photo really sets them off. Now you've got me wanting to spend some money & order some to practice on...

You have some nice shapes and woods there. Well done.
I have just finished a few stoppers. My first turning experience. Wasted a lot of wood though.:)

I like the combination of the blackwood and the glass insert.

Thanks for the comments.

Nice work, Toney! Out of curiosity, how do you mount the natural edge pieces? I'm guessing on a screw chuck? I haven't turned a bottle stopper before but I'm determined to learn. Any problems with chatter or vibration on the N.E. stoppers without the tailstock up against it? Thanks for your experience!

Thanks Nathan. Ruth sells a screw chuck that also serves as to thread the blank. It also has a MT on it.

There was some vibration but it was not too bad as long as I kept my cuts light. I almost never use the tail stock for turning bottle stoppers. I probably should but as long as the blank screws on tightly I feel pretty safe.

Nice work Toney. You are inspiring me to get out the stopper hardware that my wife got me for Christmas. It's not Ruth Niles, but I should try my hand at the cheaper stuff first.

I love the natural edge ones too. I may have to pirate your idea and make some.

By the way, is that proper terminology? "Flock" of stoppers?
Not gaggle or school?

Nice stoppers - I really like the bubinga and the photo composition is great. I've been very pleased with Ruth's stoppers.
