Looks like a lot of places aren't carrying the Triton wood rack anymore.

I bought one when they went on sale at Woodcraft, but they're back up to $80 again. :(

Anybody see them priced cheaper someplace else?

Triton the company is in bankruptcy. If you can find them, get 'em. :)

Like you, I bought one when they were on sale for $50 with free shipping from Woodcraft. I wished I would have bought two. Oh well, at least I got a good deal with the one I purchased.

I bought 2 sets when they were on sale, I think I got them for around $35 a set. Thanks to SMC Deals and Discounts and a fellow Creeker.

Here is a Canadian company selling them for $43 CAD which is about $35 USD. Not sure about shipping charges. They may use Canada Post.

If Triton (the company, is out of business, bankrupt) then I assume all products made by them will be discontinued , ie drills, routers , dust masks, work tables etc, WOW , and my Dad just bought a drill and router last year! Damn!

If I lived closer I'd sell you both set's of mine. One set is still in the box. Some day I'll put them up, maybe, well I don't know?

I think they are great. The instructions say one package (two racks) is sufficient for 8' boards, but I thought that was too big a gap and I would get some warped boards. I purchased three packages and put them on six 16" studs in a row so I don't have to worry about warping on the long ones.

Of course many different kinds of shelving would have worked, but these seems sturdy and looked good.

I think they are very sturdy. I ended up putting up longer 16ga 1x1" steel tubing that were secured to the floor and up the wall (using special lags called tightlock or something) then put up the 12" cantilever bars (well you kind of have to put them in all at the same time). Anyway I have been overloading it by 2x (suggested 400lb per level) with 800lbs per level, and it's been up with no movement for almost a year. I can't recommend overloading it beyond the mfg recommendations but I've been doing it and it seems very solid to date.

Triton was purchased a year or two ago by General Machinery Company (GMC). GMC filed for bankruptcy protection under the Australian equivalent of our Chapter 11. The Triton brand may well survive as it has a good rep and the trademark and intellectual property has been sold to a consortium of investors who plan to keep it going. We'll see.
