Statistics say that 5-15% of the population is left-handed. So if this holds true, out of 11,588 active members on this forum there should be between 579-1738 of us here. So count off south-paws.

I'm one here, we are the only ones working in our right minds.

Right handed but no vision in right eye. Shoot rifles left handed, pistols right handed. Bow and arrow, left handed.

I move things with my mind, but type with both hands.... Go figure.

All left handed. Except for roping. Found out after I learned to throw a rope that they do make left handed ropes. No joke.

There some jokes in Wasilla... maybe not about ropes though, right?

I'm left handed.

I have to file the lock buttons off of all my portable electric tools to keep them from locking when I grab a tool with my left hand.

Took me a long time to find a left handed Hawken rifle but I eventually found one.

Left dominant. I have learned to do so much both handed, I just write left handed (when I was a kid and my brother broke his arm, I had to teach him left, and him teach me right).

Another left hander here!

That 5-15% statistic seem pretty broad. I saw a documentary about this awhile back. It said 10% of any group of people (except lefties) are left handed. It's universal among humans. It's the same in every country and among every ethnicity. It's the same among men and women. And nobody knows how or why.

I used to work at a small software company. A coworker and I had heard that techie types tend to be left handed. If that was true, it stood to reason more than 10% of the employees would be left handed. We surveyed each and every person at the office; about a hundred folks. At first it seemed there were indeed more than 10% lefties. In the end, it was right at 10%.

That how I know it guys.

Count me in, mostly lefty, except golfing, and baseball. I tried like hell to learn to shoot right handed but lefty is just more comfortable. I can shoot a rifle pretty well wrong handed, but I have to shoot a shotgun with my left.

I'm a leftie but I usually write right. They made me sit on my left hand when I was learning to write. The experts are right, forcing a leftie to be a rightie really messes them up! Just ask LOML.

BTW, in my family we were 50/50 with my dad, my sister and I all born left and my mom, brother and another sister born right.

I'm a leftie though right eye dominant. Made learning to shoot a lot easier, but it also means being extremely careful when hand cutting dovetails.

Mom, Dad, and myself are all righties...my brother is a southpaw.

Wife, Daughter, and myself are all righties....

I'm a lefty.

Did you know that the right side of the brain controls the left hand and the left side controls the right hand? That means lefties are the only ones in their right mind !:D

that I'm right-eye-dominant (a surprise after 60 years).

My dad went back to college in his 50s for his BA and reported to me, with delight, one day that the college had surveyed the student body and discovered that 20% of the students were left-handed, and so had purchased that percentage of those dreadful tablet-arm chairs in left-handed versions for the lecturer halls. He argued that this demonstrated we lefties are more intelligent.

I countered that it could mean we can't get work and so have to go to school longer.

I'm lefty, so is my wife. Our son is 3 months old, so the verdict is still out on whether he is or not.
