That's all I wanted to know really. Which one is heavier duty to hold up the best? I am talking 6 x 89 sanding belts, btw. Thanks:)

For my 6 x 108 belt I use xy belts from Klingspor. XY is also the weight of the abrasive for the Performax machines. X weight generally is for heavier belts like an abrasive planer belt.
BTW, J Flex weight belts are good when you need the belt to bend, like contour sanding.
Hope that helps.

Thank you. I thought the x was heavier but I couldn't remember. The belt that came on it, (Used machine), is so stretched out you can't make it tighter. I sold my Delta 31-396 a few years ago and recently picked up a smaller General. I liked the Delta better, but it was just too big for my little shop and underused.
