I am in the process of replacing the 3/4 hp DC drive and motor on my lathe.I found a brand new Leeson 1.5 hp 3 phase motor and now need to find a VFD Inverter Drive.Does anybody have a specific recommendation or business that has reasonable prices.I'm trying to keep the cost under control and I got the motor at a great price.I wish I could find a drive like the one that is on the 2 hp 16/42 Jet ,or something close.
Thanx,Greg

I have this one and it has been great, and at $145 I don't think you can beat it.

I think I see vents in your VFD. Have you done anything to deal with dust/small chips or just let it be?

I have mine mounted on a wall away from the lathe. I have a homemade remote on the lathe.

Bob,
what did you use for a speed pot on your remote, also what else can you control from your remote? That looks like exactly what I need.

I have a 3 position sw. fwd/off/rev (off is not hook to anything) and a 10k ohm pot. Both came from www.mcmaster.com (http://www.mcmaster.com). you can prolly use the spaces in you lathe to install the switches.
