Here is a little afzalia burl vase I did. I had to do a design change on it as it came apart. Only one piece flew off while turning as it had some voids all over it. So changed the look and didn't come out to bad. It is 6 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" across. Same lady bought it for her daughter for $60.

Thanks everyone. Afzelia has some great color and I like the forms you can get but the two pieces I have turned have been a bear but both sold so what can I say.

Steve we are at 255. My Christmas present this year.

That is nice - looks kinda like glass in the photo. This is the first time I heard of this wood.

Thanks Rick. It is a nice wood and makes some really nice vases. I made one that is lidded but the wood always has a lot of little voids. This it the second one that came apart on me without a tool on it.

You did a great job Bernie! Of course, you always do though. I love that form. It's classic and goes with just about everything. Retirement? In this day and age? Must be nice!! Early Congratulations:cool::cool::cool:
