Here are two boxes/trays I recently built featuring my first attempts at handcut dovetails. The first one has tiger maple and cherry sides, with a bookmatched walnut bottom panel. The second one has mulberry sides and a bookmatched apple bottom panel. I cut and milled the mulberry and applewood myself, and dried it in my solar kiln.

Nice job on the trays Julian.

Bonus points for the corners being hand cut.
They look great for your first ones.

I would of maybe added one more pin but thats a personal thing.

Great job on the trays - and the dovetails. Man, that is some nice curly maple. The mulberry and apple are nice, too!!
