690LR Router on Sale

If your in the market for a router, Rockler has the PC 690LR on sale with a $30 mail in rebate. That makes it just under a $100 before shipping. Seems like a good deal to me. :)

Some time in the last couple of weeks, I picked up an old Rockwell 690 router for $10. It turns out to need bearings, and the collet is the old non-quick-release type (am I right that the quick release collets will interchange? They look identical but for the snap ring). By the time I put bearings in and get a collet set, I'll be up to probably half the new price.

I have heard that Porter-Cable's quality has dropped. Is this true of the 690, or are the new ones still high quality?
