1. Olive Bowl 10.5 By 3.75 I got this piece from a wood raffle at the guild meeting. Smells like olive oil, quite nice to turn. As it dried I could hear it cracking. Kinda weird.
2. Eastern White Cedar Vase- 7.25 By 6 The inside is really rough, the bark used to be to the top but a few mistakes got rid of it. The grain is really wild and I had some trouble with it.

3. Eastern White Cedar Bowl- 7 by 3 just a regular bowl.
4. Eastern White Cedar Hollowform- 4.5 by 7.5 The mouth is 2.75 wide. I have been using my monster hollowing tools quite a bit. It is pretty even thickness at 5/16.
Comments and CRITIQUES are welcome.

The grain is really wild and I had some trouble with it.
I should think so. Nicely handled though.
My favorite is the hollow form, great grain and a good (if unusual) shape.

Alex - very nice work on everything! Cedar can be a real challenge to turn because it can be so soft! I really like the hollow form (duh) but feel it would look even better if the neck had more of a curve to it - similar to the vase.
Hey - you did good!

Steve I think your right on, I wasn't really happy with the final shape, but I was quickly fed up and decided to start sanding earlier than I should have. It came out alright but not what it could have been.
Richard, surprisingly #4 is my favorite also. I just love the shape.
Thanks for all the nice comments.

I'm a fan of #2. Anything with a natural oddity, in this case bark inclusions, I'm a big fan of. Plus I really like the form.
