Ok first I would like to say last night I was reading through old posts and looking at pictures on your site and I have to say the level of craftsmanship on this site is OUTSTANDING!
I have been redoing my living room and after I get done with the drywall and floor I have a few things I would like to do, let me see if I can get some pictures posted so you get the idea.

Ok first all the drywall came down, put in new insulation and I am in the process of getting the new drywall back up.

I made this big hole into the kitchen to open things up, I need to trim this opening but when we do the kitchen more than likely the trim will get trashed because we will probably add some kind of bar. So I am thinking just stained pine for the time.

Ok I need to make some kind of covers for my baseboard hot water heat, the section is 12’ long and runs around the corner and then 6’ down the other wall, really like to hear what any ideas you folks may have?

The front window and door will have to be trimmed out I think I have a pretty good handle on that.
If you look at the next picture

Ok this is going to be the entertainment wall if you will, I have all my speaker wire for my surround run to a box on this wall and the TV will end up on the wall, now for the tricky part.
My wife has picked up one of those new electric fireplace inserts with the remote control and she wants me to build a mantle/cabinet for it.
Her specs are oak and it needs to be on wheels so it can be moved and have shelve units on the side for all the electronics
She thinks electronics on the right and matching shelves for whatever on the left.
I have about 70” along the wall to work with and I believe the unit is 30” but I would like it to be a little smaller.
My thinking was to build a basic frame work out of pine and cover it with oak with skirt of sorts to hide the casters?
I am looking for any and all ideas here? And feel free to step all over my above idea about the pine if need be, I have never really built anything like this before.
Oh and I almost forgot to mention my budget is getting skinny so I would like to take a minimal approach?
Oh and thank you for reading!:D
