I'm a VERY novice carver, but I'm also a tool nut - here's a few photos, showing my arsenal. They are way better than I am, but I'm trying...Mike

Excellent start! As a fellow tool junkie, I know the project can be secondary to the tools. I love my North Bay Forge tools. I had them for six months before I used them, but I still loved them before they cut wood.

I'm mostly interested in carving spoons and bowls, although I'm trying my hand at some other things. Half-hull ship models and carvings similar to those of the Pacific NW natives, the Haida, also interest me - I'll be working on more soon. And yes, Jim at North Bay Forge makes awesome tools, and has been really great in our email and phone communications. The Karlsson tools from Country Workshop are expensive, but are teriffic, as is the axe from Gransfors Bruks. I'm an admitted tool nut, too. Mike

North Bay really does offer some excellent tools. I just finished up putting a handle on one of his adz irons.
