Anyone have one? Any thing to watch out for?
Have you been able to run a 1/4" blade on it?

I may try to use a 3/16" blade with special guides at some point.

I'm about to order. 5HP and 3Hp are nearly the same price so is there any reason NOT to get the 5HP? I have the 30 Amp ready to wire.

Thanks

If it is anything like my 513x2 it should be a great saw. I see the 3hp version is being cleared out at $1495+free ship. That is a smoking deal. You better hurry because supplies are limited.

Hi Andrew,
Already sent you a PM before I saw your post. The 3hp at $1500 is great deal. I paid full price and ~$170 for shipping from Bellingham to Seattle because it was too big for my trailer. Great saw, great value. Go for it. John.

Thanks Guys,

I'm ready to move on it. I just have few questions for Grizzly on Monday, then I should have the saw in a few days.

For smaller blades there was this thread here at SMC.

Not sure if the Grizzly roller guides can be set-up for this. Possibly if you removed the side bearings, and installed oil soaked wood with some oval slots cut in for adjustment.

If you are using small blades, you can totally capture them in the
wood/phenolic blocks for stability.

The problem with small blades on big bandsaws comes with tracking the blade, since there is only a slight amount of camber on the large tires.
This is where totally capturing the blade helps.
