As I have stated in an earlier thread, I am rather dissatisfied with my Ryobi 12" Benchtop Drill Press.

I got a lot of responses to my question about what Benchtops people thought were good, but having done some research, a lot of them were lacking both from the professional sites and mags... to the user reviews on various sites.

I am close to a Delta 350, but I have read a number of very positive reviews of the Palmgren http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41K3XYM6V5L._SL110_.jpg (http://www.amazon.com/Palmgren-80153-15-Inch-12-Speed-Bench/dp/B00068U7YK/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=IPJZGSL3MS20W&colid=Q6YG0N2JQ56F) 80153 1/2 HP 15-Inch 12-Speed Bench Drill Press (http://www.amazon.com/Palmgren-80153-15-Inch-12-Speed-Bench/dp/B00068U7YK/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=IPJZGSL3MS20W&colid=Q6YG0N2JQ56F)

It's more expensive than the others, but the reviews state that it is extremely accurate and powerful for most drilling.

Anyone using it here? I'd like some further reviews before spending the extra $$, though it sounds VERY promising.

Frank I have the next model up...
Palmgren 80171 3/4 Horsepower 17-Inch Bench Drill Press

Rock solid, no problems, no complaints, this a great maker, good support as well. I have a few other of their products. It is made to metal working standards, not woodworking. You can add an XY table and do some milling... its that strong. It lacks many of the bells n whistles many of the ww drill presses have, lasers, auto speed change, etc. But its heavy duty, will out live you...
