Anyone know the best method to re-attach the leather strap to the wheel on the Jet Slow Speed Wet Sharpener? Mine came loose while honing a skew chisel and of course now is impregnated with the polish that came with the sharpener.

Seems like Jet has two models. I checked one of the manuals and it appears the leather honing wheel comes as one piece. Was hoping it was two piece design.
Maybe you can clean off the honing paste with a solvent, like laquer thinner, then glue it back on when it is dry ?

I had that happen on my old Tormek, cleaned the leather with lacquer thinner and used automotive weatherstrip adhesive to reinstall the leather. That has lasted a few years while I still had the Tormek and (I think) continues to work for the guy who bought it from me.

Thanks, I will try that.
