Rex - congrats on your new lathe! Looks great! I also see you got the swing-away for your tailstock! I am sure that option will save you back over time!

Have fun with your new lathe! Looking forward to seeing some turnings real soon!

Congrats on the lathe, You'll love it, you might want to consider taking off the feet. It seems to vibrate more with them on.

And the small light bulb comes on here in southern Ky.
I need to put wheels on my tool caddy.
Gee -----why didn't I think of that before.

Nice lathe also

I got my 3520B a few years ago and still have "holy cow" moments on it. VERY nice machine that continues to impress. I have to look into the swing-away for the tailstock. I also have the extension mounted low as you do for turning the big bowls and being able to swing the tailstock out like that would be a back-saving deal.
Have fun!

Rex, The only thing I don't see are tons of turning blanks and rough outs sitting around like in my shop! You will enjoy many years of fine service from your new 3520B. Have fun and the NE on the lathe looks real good too!

Congrats! Looks like you have a nice setup in your shop. The only problem is that it is too clean! Need some chips on the floor :D

Rex,

Where did you get your swing-away? How much? What kind or who makes it? I also have the extension, but have mine mounted up high. I find myself pulling the tailstock all the way onto the extension to get it more out of the way. Get tired of bumping into the point of the live center. Would be nice to mount it down low to do some outboard turning and just swing it away when I just want it out of the way or do some hollowing with my monster rig. Congrats on the mustard, you will love it!

I recently spent 3 days turning on other brands of lathes. After returning home and once again getting to turn on my own MM, I have a new appreciation for it. You made a good choice IMHO, enjoy!
