Yesterday I placed an order for the G0634 12" jointer/planer combo. I have seen several threads talking about mobile bases for heavy machines (about 700 lbs). The consensus seems to be that those sold by Grizzly are not up to the task. However I don't seem to find recommendation for a good heavy duty mobile base. Can anyone make a recommendation for a mobile base for the G0634? I am a retired engineer so I always want a healthy safty margin. I won't be moving it around very often, but if I ever do then I don't want to get a hernia trying to do so. By the way I need to buy it not make it. I have no way to cut, bend, weld, etc steel.

Recommendations very welcome.

You could look in to the accesories that work for the Felder and Hammer machines. I saw a video for the Hammer A3 31 Jointer-Planer (Canadian version) that had a roller and lift bar that was used to move the machine. I have attached a link to their rolling carriages.

If you or someone you know is handy with a welder, I've found that a few beads where the sections meet, greatly improve Grizzly's bases.

There is a contributor here his name is Dan Lemkin. He has went through an ordel on this same machine. I am not bashing grizzly, but to understand the story check out this thread.
