Howdy folks,

Well I played a little hookey today to get the last of the paint on my shop storage/compressor room addition. I now pronounce this project to be done. :D

Here are some pics.......

<IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/ch11.jpg">

If you didn't see the previous thread, it's 9 X 9 and is for storing all those things I'll never need but can't throw away along with my gardening tools, lawn mower and my compressor etc....

I needed to jamb as much in this little room as possible so I built an attic nearly as big as the structure itself. There is 56 sq. ft. more "floor" space in the attic. Man, it's great to have some more storage plus the little compressor shed that was built when the shop was built was just about to fall down. I'm sure my compressor will be much happier now.

<IMG SRC="http://www.terryhatfield.com/ch10.jpg">

You can see here when I get the Grasshopper in there I can barely close the door. I still have a bunch of room in the attic and a little more floor space but I'm sure it won't take long for that to be filled as well.

Thanks for looking,

Terry

Extra space is always great!! I was wondering where you had been...now I's no....

By the way....make sure you increase your other structures coverage on your homeowners...... :rolleyes: :D

Kinda sad when a 1200 sq ft shop isn't big enough. I think you should have added another 1200 sq ft, instead of 81.

Looks great. Any advanced features like Sunroof, running water, toilet in there we don't know about??

Jack,

Nope no extras. Just the compressor, lawn stuff and general junk.

Don't temp me. I'd really like to extend it all the way across the back of the shop someday. That would net me 360 additional sq.ft. :D I'm sure you remember the 3X3 compressor shed that this replaced. 81 sq.ft. is way more than 9. :D

Thanks Jim,

The stinking lawn mower and all the assorted gardening stuff has been in the way for years around my place. It's really nice to have it out of the shop. You will want to have the compressor in a seperate room outside the shop for sure. That thing is WAY to loud to be in the shop. I've been needing to replace the original compressor shed for quite a while. It was at best a pieced together after thought to the shop. Hopefully this little room will do a much nicer job of keeping out the rain and provide some much needed storage.

BTW, where'd all the "stuff" go that was in the back of the shop? :confused:

Congrats, Terry. Now you've got a place to stick Ken when he shows up for your BBQ. :D You won't have to listen to him OR the compressor. :eek: Just toss a BL in there every so often, and all should work out. :cool:

I looked at every picture very closely and didn’t see any piping from the dust collector:confused: How in the world are you going to keep the mower dust free :D

I see your point, got to protect yourself ;)

Anyway, you did a beautiful job on the addition. It looks like it had been planned to be there from the start. Nice work, as always :cool:

Lookin' good, Terry! :) I'll bet you really appreciate all the extra shop real estate you now have. On the other hand, if you ever find yourslef missing that stuff being in there, I'll be glad to drop a bunch of my jun....errrrrr...very exquisite and valuable lawn and garden equipment, etc... in there! :D It really does look like it's always belonged there and not like an after-thought! :cool:
