There are a number of folks who swear by AVG as their virus protection and many folks say you're using the "free" version.

When I go to the AVG website, I can see a 30-day trial and full purchase versions of the products - but no "free" version.

What am I missing?

Remember, no Anti-Virus will do you any good if you don't keep it updated. Do not rely on automatic updates.

I sprung for the full AVG version when I set up my new pc last year. It is significantly better than the resource pig Norton.

It's almost as if they don't WANT you to find the free version. It works well though. I haven't had a virus on my machine for years with AVG.

There are several other good free anti virus programs. I use Avast, I think there is one called antivir and comodo makes a pretty good one as well. AVG is not the only game in town.
