There will also be a session in San Mateo regarding the new link between Shopbot and Thermwood which will enable Shopbotters to use the E Cabinets software;

And there may still be some other surprises between now and then as well...

Well you can get Ecabinets for free; you just have to wait for thefor them to send you the disc. It is a very good program and might even be fun to play with.

I have been using Ecab since Version1. It has come a long way and going even further with the many new things being added. The next version (6) is suppose to be available via download. Now that Ecabinets is being offered to other CNC's this will be a HUGE impact on these other 20K-40K cabinet software packages.

It is sad in one way because now we (Thermwood CNC owners) don't have exclusivity:( but great because now many others will have access to a very powerful software package.

PS- IT DOES A LOT MORE THAN JUST CABINETS.

The other big part of the Thermwood announcement is that they have now made a bunch of libraries free to download via the eCabinets Systems (http://www.ecabinetsystems.com) website. They have hundreds of files in there for faceframe and frameless kitchen, bath and closet cabinets. They have also included several libraries of traditional and contemporary furniture designs. This should really jump-start the process of using this extremely powerful cabinet and furniture design tool.

I've also been using the eCabs software since Version 1 and it really have come a long way. I can't afford a Thermwood router yet, but now I may be able to afford a ShopBot machine to process my eCabs files. I'm pretty excited about that possibility.

I've got more info on eCabinet Systems on my website at http://www.woodistry.com/ecabinetSystemsClass.htm

Or you can find a lot of information at the www.eCabinetsystems.com (http://www.eCabinetsystems.com).
