WoW!! Now those are breath taking.Excellent work. Love the forms also. I've gotta dig out my pyrography stuff and start learning what all can be done with it. Very impressive!!

These HF's are from my Giraffe series. (Named by my wife) Using pyrography pens after drawing outlines with a pencil, a lot of smoke was created. They are first outlined with a skew pen, following the pencil outline, then 2 sizes of small ball tipped pens are used, 1 dot at a time....takes a while to do.

They are all between 4 and 5 inches in dia. I use maple, as white as I can find, to make a good contrast.

Those are really something. Definitley fitting of a series name, and "giraffe" seems to be a suitable and appropriate title. Really great work, seriously.

All I can say is "WOW" you sure are adept at figuring out the patterns that work and make you want to look and feel the turning! The base turnings are very good before you even start the fire!

Super work!!

Hi Wally,

I really like these pieces. They show very well as a grouping.

The title "Giraffe" seems to fit and sound better than "A mob of Amoebas"

Did you bleach the maple beforehand?
