Little scare this morning. With my daughter and son-in-law living in Naples it was a bit of a shock to hear the news of the earthquake that killed 40 and left tens of thousands homeless. Fortunately we did get an e-mail from her after only being worried for an hour or so. They were rudely awakened by it at 3:30am, but there were no signs of damage to their apartment. Their DSL was out so she had to go to an internet cafe to send the e-mail and saw no signs of damage in Naples.

And I am sitting hear feeling disgusted over an April snow storm.

You never have to look to far to find someone worse off than yourself.

Happy to hear your family is safe

Glad to know your daughter and SIL are safe, Joe. I can't imagine how long that hour or so this morning must have seemed to you.

We heard from her again, they had 3 friends from the U.S. staying with them for the weekend, who also got awakened.

Their friends will be headed to Rome today for the return trip, and they expect it to be a mess at the airport. Not that Rome had damage, just all the help coming in from all over the world.
