I'm trying to downsize my collection of machines at the wife's request:(...long story there. Anyhow, I have a PM PJ882 8" parallelogram jointer, a PM 20HH planer and a Minimax FS30 Smart 12" Jointer/Planer Combo, with Mortising Attachment. I'm torn as to which to sell and which to keep. All machines are in new condition.
The FS30 is a neat machine with great capacity and has the ability to mortise as well, however the PJ882 is a sweet jointer with both tables dead flat. The PM20HH is yet to be unpacked, but I'm sure it is sweet as well. I keep going back and forth. Help!

No question, "this woodworker" would keep the FS30 Smart combo.

If you like all in one machines keep the MM. If not, keep the Powermatics.

I think you're missing the obvious solution here Derek...

Keep the machines and get rid of the wife! :p :D

Wow somebody actually said it outloud!! :p:p:D:D

Seriously though, Im not a huge fan of combo machines but in this case it may be the way to go since it seems according to your post, the idea is decrease the number of machines.

I'm in the market for several of those machines... depending on where you are, I might be interested in buying them. Please let me know when you decide.

Sounds like you need a 16" jointer to go with that 20" planer. Why keep the small stuff?? You know you'll always need bigger anyway.
