The clock I'm making calls for a door with a 3/8" lip - like a kitchen cabinet. It calls for hinges with finials. The only kind I can find are stamped steel with a bronze or antique finish. Very cheesy. ( I mean no insult to the cheese heads among us) I've looked in Paxton and Horton as well as the usual wwing catalogs. I'd prefer solid brass. Any ideas?

Try VanDyke Restorers Supply. I bought some solid brass hinges from them with balls on the ends. They had several different terminal finishes on different types. Also most hinges there have a choice of finish, polished, antique and so on.

Don't know if I have spelled the company name right.

Lee Valley has a good selection of hardware and you could also check out Restoration Hardware. If you happen to have a Great Indoors locally they also seem to have a wide selection of hardware as well. Good luck on your search :)
