I have completed my new TS extension with my router plate installed. I used a discontinued blue model from Rockler's discontinued clearance rack. Problem is, I do not have a threaded starting pin for the threaded hole. Any suggestions on what to use / where to find a replacement with that thread ? Rockler does not carry it appears...

Thanks in advance. :)

what thread size it is? I took a 20-1/4" hex bolt and cut the head, the smooth section of it stays out and the rest threads in. Works fine.

If you don't mind doing it yourself: Figure out what size threads you need, buy a bolt with threads only near the end and cut or grind the head off. Or buy a piece of brass rod and thread it yourself.

I make them out of a bolt and a short length of 1/2" pipe. The bolt goes through the pipe and the pipe acts like a "bearing". I grind the facets off the bolt head and nut so that they are smaller than the OD of the pipe. (You have to tighten the nut with pliers or vice grips.)

They are 1/4" x 20. I just used a bolt and cut the smooth shaft off at about 1" in height above the table. Worked great for years. My lift came with a fat brass one or I would still be using the bolt.

I'll give it a try Sat. Thanks for the responses.

One other option might be to buy a "shoulder bolt" if that thread in the plate is 1/4-20.

Or grind a slot in the top to use a screwdriver.
