Is this worth $399.00?

It followed me home & that's all I paid for it.

I figure with this Hitachi C 12RSH & my Wixey Digital Angle Gauge I should be able to do just fine.

It is going to make my shop seem bigger. Because I'm going to to move the 12" RAS to storage & sell the 12" CMS.

It has a rebate too a 2 1/4 HP Hitachi Router.

Nice machine. But, I don't know if I'd get rid of the 12" RAS.

I saw that at CostCo today as well. My wife said to keep moving, but I was able to buy beef jerky.

I'm not getting rid of it Jeffrey Just storing it along with my Dad's other tools another 10" RAS a 10" table-saw & 6" jointer & air compressor.

You see I'm tool poor. I actually have 2 complete shops of tools. Poor me.:D My little shop was to crowded  I needed room to work:D.

That's the best chuckle I had all night. Clifford.

I think that is a good deal. I have their 12" compound miter, no slide, with a laser and it has been a great saw for four years now. It cost 350 or so and I would love to have that sliding capability. Some people can't get past the Nike shoe styling, but so what!

Maybe it's just me, but everytime I see these Hitachi saws they remind me of some evil space alien creature....even more so with that black flexible dust hose hooked to it. Sort of like the borg on Star Trek.

It is actually at $99 quite often. I bought one for the HS robotics team that I volunteer for, we used it to cut Al with a non-ferrous blade. It was a great saw until a kid tried to cut Steel with it and it caught in the blade and snapped off the fence.

Man, I hope my Costco doesn't have that on the shelves. I'm a dead man if I bring that home:D

I wanna know how the beef jerky was:D

Bart,
Let me know how you like the small table on that unit. I'm just curious if you find it bothersome.

Very nice. Tempting, but I don't think I'd better push my luck with SWMBO this week.

I bought a Hitachi 8 1/2" CMS in 1992, $160 (it was used) I still have it and use it every day. Wish I could say the same about my 12" DeWalt CMS that I paid $600 for in 1999.

I have the next step up that has the digital readout and laser. I have had it for a few years and I love mine. I paid $550 for mine on sale and it has been worth every penny.

Eric from what I can see as of now the table being narrow is only on the ends the middle makes up for that & when I get my table built I'll have wings about 16" long & will look at making them wider front to back then the ends of the table casting. The material will run from there on out to a roller stand on the left & over the top of my planer on the right.

Update on my end. I went to my local Costco, to see if it was in stock (or available for order), and only found a 12" single bevel CMS. I had forgot to bring the number (received a distress call that took me out before I was ready), so I went to customer service to see if they knew anything. I told the woman I couldn't find out about their inventory online, but I read about this online (had to explain it was a group, not their website), and she looked up miter saw. She wrote down the item number 392197 and said it was listed as new in the system, and no local stock, YET.

So if you don't have it, write that number down and call them, they are on the way. (make nice with your wives, hide the knives, etc);)

Thanks Bart!:)

Been calling them on a regular basis. Never had any in any of the local stores. They now show it as a discontinued item.
