Cannister or a lidded bowl I guess. Call it what you will. The lid is just a bowl shaped piece of Red Cedar resting in the mortised Walnut base. the lid is finished with satin poly while the walnut cannister is DO and buffed. Size is 7X6.5...Bill...

Nice looking cannister. The two different woods work well together and your form is pleasing to the eye.

Man, you got that gloss finish down. I think I could shave using one of your pieces. :D

The finish is impeccable!!

I have a lot of cedar available and I had no idea it could look like that.
