I'm currently designing/building my latest whiz-bang router table. While looking through Router Magic (a great book by Bill Hylton, btw), I got the idea of building a horizontal router onto the backside of my RT.

I figure I'll make the router attach with toggle clamps, so I can remove it when not in use. The whole mechanism will slide down out of the way when not in use.

I like this idea better than building onto the side of my TS, as Bill does in the book.

This seems like a fairly simple addition to a normal RT design, provided you plan it out in advance. I'm surprised that I don't see it done very often.

In fact, I'm even considering making it tiltable, although that would complicate things considerably...

Opinions?
