Need Mantel Design Help

We are in the process of building a house and are coming up blank on what to for a mantel. We have 14 ft ceilings and was thinking of an over mantel design, but just can not seem to find some good examples to give us some ideas.

We did our door/window casings in this style.

Can anyone point me in the right direction hopefully with some pics of either projects or other design ideas.

I did a quick google.com image search and came up with 440000 images. I then did an image search for "rustic fireplace mantle." there were 106000 images. Your problem will be sorting through them and finding 4 or 5 to print. Post a pic of the finished results.:)

Mike, I don't know if you intend to have stone, but this style may appeal to you. You could adapt the moldings to replicate your trim.
