Do I need to use the ventilation blower when engraving aluminum?
Thanks Mark.

Some here may say no, but you only have one set of lungs, why risk it.
My rule of thumb is if I smell anything or see any smoke - ANY - I turn on the blower. I use the blower for everything - even glass - it doesn't hurt.

ALWAYS use the blower!
Like Tim said you only get one set...and replacement parts are hard to come by.

It is turned on when the air assist is turned on and I use that every time.

You've made your decision, but I'm with the others . . . exhaust, exhaust, exhaust.

Forgot to turn on the exhaust this morning and the lens was collecting oxide dust in no time.
Yes - you always need the exhaust going!
