Ok, it sold for charity but it still made me feel good that it sold for $40 :D, kind of a good stroke to the ego. It's maple, from the crotch of a tree cut down in my girlfriends front yard.

The bowl had been sitting on my desk for several months and about anyone that has walked in my office has tried to sneak off with it. The charity is the Louisville Fund for the Arts and when the Office Manager said she wanted to do an art auction with articles done and donated by the employees here I figured why not. The bidding started at $10 and I actually had 6 folks bid on it. Made me feel like I've come a long way from the days when I started (I still have that first bowl attempt on a shelf in my shop) It really is a good feeling to know that others appreciate my work as well :). Thank you all, Rick.

IT is a beautiful bowl.

Don't take this wrong. I believe it is worth more than $40.00. But, you very seldom get the full value at a charity event.

I love the figure in some of the maple pieces. This piece is one of those! Very nice.
