Well, got a used Powermatic 66, made in '93 but looks almost new. I didn't get an owners manual and never had a table saw. How do you take care of the cast iron top? I live near the coast and stuff tends to rust badly 'round here.

Baby powder is also effective. As a bonus, it'll make your shop smell like a nursery.

My motorcycles all smell like babies because I use baby powder in the tires. Look like I wax tomorrow.

Talcum Powder is what my PM owners manual recommends, (rubbed in with a blackboard eraser). "IF" you use the Powder, BE SURE to read the label to see the ingredients, because fewer and fewer of the Baby or Body powders actually use Talc in them, but use Corn Starch instead.

Talc will repel moisture, BUT Corn Starch will attract it.

Where can you get pure talc anymore these days. I have noticed Gold Bond has talc but it also has other ingredient and I don't want to harm the bed.

I stumbled across this a while ago and tried it. I'm impressed with the results and with the yearly thaw cycle coming up, I'll see how well my CI resists rusting.
