Can anyone identify the tree this little sprig came from?:confused:
I would appreciate it.:)

It looks like a one of the red oak varieties. (there are several)

Dennis, you're right. When you said that, I immediately knew you were right. I just couldn't put my finger on the little sprig that dangles below the limbs... Yep. You got it!!

i agree with Dennis, a type of oak, i would guess black oak or jack oak

PS - it's an oak - some type of red oak. The red oaks have points on the tip of the leaves. That doesn't narrow it down too much though, there are many red oaks.

Looks like pin oak to me. hard to say since the leaves are a bit immature.

Hi Allen, I think I know you well enough to suspect this to be a bit of a driveby gloat :D, yes we have the last snow gone here in the deep south of Canada, but no Red Oak family tree leafs for a while yet :eek:.
Enjoy while you can Allen, it'll be a toooo hot one pretty soon :rolleyes: :p

Pin Oak to me. If the limbs are crowded its pin oak.
