I finally got this pice done.. My firt large Burl pice.. it good danish elm burl, with worms, rotten patches, nots, half a branch valys hole and you name it!! One bad lady to finish... she have been swimmig i danish oil on a daily basis for weeks to get some stability into the very rotten parts..
now sanded to "only" 400 this by hand.. and polished with 3e and a clean wheel...
I lack a realy good pictur of the shape but it stands proud from the tabel with a very nice shadow so that the bootom is more or less invisible...
i have named it "miss-behaved" because she dident always do...

Rasmus,
That's a beautiful bowl. You tamed the wild nature of the wood while allowing it's natural beauty to shine through. Very well done.
While I'm sure you have a lot of very fine turnings left inside of you, nothing you ever do will beat this one bowl. How could it?

Rasmus congrats on a beautiful piece! Your skills as a "lion tamer" showed well here with all the branches, voids and punky patches. Turning can at times be a rough ride and it looks like you and your lady survived the ride in admirable fashion...Bill..

Easy .. she behaved like a woman... dooing more or les what she wanted, telling men what to do and how, and not responding in any sane way ;)
And thank you all for the very nice words!!
