I have a wonderful resource for beautifully figured woods that I buy from. When he gets really good stuff in he contacts me asap. This little gem was the pick of the litter. I'm thinking of building a Lowboy with it.

Too bad it's got all those funny lines through it. I would ask for your money back.

If the freight company happens to mix AZ up with SC I will let you know. Very nice piece of wood to design around. Enjoy!

Real nice to see that much curl on a flat cut piece of maple. The curl shows up best on quartered wood. Must be murder on any quartered boards that came from that tree!

Holy moly! Where can I get some of that?

Alright, we're just jealous. That's pretty cool stuff! My grandfather was a Violin maker and I have some bookmatched fiddleback maple remnants of his. It's amazing stuff, I get it out every once in a while and look at it, then just put it back.

I'm the same way. I sit and stare at pieces of wood waiting for it to tell me what to do with it. My loft in my shop is loaded and my 16ft trailer is full too. I don't know why I keep buying more. I can't help myself. Here's a few pics of my last order from him and the loft.

Bill - congrats on the wood - but it looks wrinkled! Maybe if you iron it.........

Maybe if you were to soak it in some highly moisturizing lotion it might take all those funny looking wrinkles out.

Bill, I can fix that lumber for you. I can sand those curly lines right out. Then send you back some perfectly straight-grained maple boards.....:D

Want my shipping address??

Great find!

You guys are killin me. The only way to get the wrinkles out is to get out the ol "Board stretcher" If you are a true woodworker, you've got to have an ol board stretcher around. I think they have them at Rockler.:D:D:D:D

You know if you fell for that and went to rocklers website, you have to own up to it. It's a coming to pass if you want to do woodwork. Oldest prank in the book.:D:D

I hate you.......

I'd be afraid to even cut that stuff, probably just build a display case around it and stare at it.

Have fun...:D
