After Karl showed us the future, here's a peak at the past. First shoes, then a spoon and finally some chairs. Not really WT but of interest to anyone with eyes for workmanship (Moshe thx for the link):

That's great! Thanks for posting that video.

I was looking through the Library of Congress Website yesterday and found this picture from sometime between 1865 and 1872. It's titled "Vydielka dereviannoi posudy. Domashniaia utvar i izdieliia iz dereva", which translates to "Manufacture of wooden dishes. Domestic utensils and wares from wood"

Norm, I was going to start a new thread for this picture, but when I saw your thread, I thought it would be neat to add it. I hope you don't mind.

Very enjoyable. Glad you posted this. You should also post it to the wood carvers forum. They would get a big kick out of this.

it appears to be maple burl turned wet, from how they warped. the back one on the left looks like poplar
