This is my first bowl. It is 4 1/2" diameter X 2" tall and a heavy 1/8" thick.

113128 113129

This is my second. It is Ash and is basically the same size and shape.

113131 113132

I have already finished a third which is much bigger and totally different. I will post pics soon.

Just wanted to share.:) Thanks for all the help.

Mike

Mike - first one is cherry? I like both of your bowls! Nice form and finish! Really like the color variation in the Ash! Nice work! Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Nice ones,

Did you rough them out wet and these are the finals, or did you turn them dry?

what jim said!! You're on your way to being a great turner if you keep it up at the same learning curve!.

Mike, Your bowls look very nice, the finish is good and I see no tool marks in them. Tools marks are the bane of the woodturners world and to get rid of them is always a great thing! Keep at it and soon you will be a star in the turning world!

Keep on a turning,

Jeff

Thanks for all the kind words. I am hooked and will share my progress with all you Creekers. I will also try to help others as they get sucked into the vortex.:)

Dewey these were turned from ash and yes Steve Cherry that were semi dried. I just tried turning them as uniformly thin as I could. I know there will be some movement but there is no sign of them cracking. I was a little impatient it being my first attempts.

Thanks,
Mike
