View Full Version : Seeking plans for shooter's range box

My neighbor is a serious rifle shooter and is involved in a lot of target match competition. He's having a milestone birthday next month and I want to build him a range box - it's essentially an esoteric shooter's "tackle box" with some special features. You can buy a plastic one at Bass Pro Shops for $40 but one hand-crafted from Oak with dovetail joints and drawers would be so much nicer, eh?

If anyone knows what I'm referring to and could point me in the direction of some decent plans (or photographs) I would really appreciate it. At this point I won't have time for a prototype pass - just the real thing. Any help you can provide to get me started off right will be much appreciated!

Chuck,

Take a look at wood tool box plans, or some of the tool boxes made by gerstner. They would need to be modified for your particular task, but it should give you a starting idea.

For more ideas, take a look at the Gerstner site. http://gerstnerusa.com/

Chuck,

This might be what you're looking for... http://www.cal-graf.com/

Range boxes are about 2/3's down the page
