Oh, she's a real pretty one she is. It only cost me $400 to adopt her.
I picked up the Delta 28-299 14" band saw today. It's in excellent condition.
Dated Feb. 21, 2002 so it's still a new machine. Best of all, Made in the USA, and actually has all SAE nuts and bolts. It feels real nice running my hands over her body. :)
Before I drove away, he gave her a goodbye kiss. He named her, not I.

Ok, I am still a newbie with this woodworking stuff so how do you tell the difference between a male and a female band saw.

I may really feel bad because I have been calling my Jet he and maybe its a she........

The things you have to learn in this woodworking...

A male band saw spends hours on the SMC forum discussing the gender of bandsaws.......Rod.:p

If you folks can't tell the difference between a male and female bandsaw remind me to never go out drinking with you, no telling who you might end up going home with after you have had a few. :D If it is wearing a skirt it is female, if not it is a streaker.

Congrats Myk, it’s a good bandsaw. I had her 1982 Aunt…or was it an Uncle… I can’t remember…

Believe it or not, out here in the boonies where I live Shirley is a fairly common name for men. Strange. I know an old timer named Shirley, a man. He told me when he was a kid there were 15 kids in his one room school. 7 of the 15 were named Shirley and 4 of those were boys!

Whatever the gender of your new BS, it looks great!

It’s very easy to tell a male bandsaw from female one/ Open stand male / Closed stand female

Mine must've been a male.

I'm not sure that rule holds true anymore though.
