I have my eye on a board that is about 7 feet tall 7/8 thick , beautiful color and about 8 inches wide. Its marked at 5.8 bd ft for $150.
I cant find bd foot price online. Its an argentinian wood I believe. Reminds me of a really nice piece of canary wood.
I was thinking about offering 100 for it.

I cant find cost online per bd ft? I see some turning stuff only.

I bought a turning blank - about 1 bf - for $15.

It is a beautiful wood that I wanted to used for an infill, but the moisture content was too high and I gave it to a turner.

Interesting thing about this wood is that it was used for making quinine as a cure for Malaria.

If I am reading correctly, a quina board 10.7 bf for $50.

That is cheap. The supplier showed me another piece of resawed quina and it was just kind of bland like mahogany in appearance. This board is very colorful. Kind of like mixing, vanilla and strawberry ice cream ;)

So wow $5 a bd foot. Maybe I will offer 10.

I believe they used the bark or the cambium to get quinine
