This is from 1/4 of a dry cherry log. Measures 7-1/2" dia. x 10" tall. Walls 1/8" +. Finished with antique oil and buffed. The second photo shows the blank mounted on the lathe prior to rough turning.

Keith,
I love the beauty and simplicity of your design. It is amazing what a skilled craftsman can remove from a ugly chunk of wood. It seems like I've seen that chunk of wood somewhere before.:D Your work is an inspiration to me to keep working to upgrade my skills. What sort of hollowing tools do you use?

Keith - absolutely love the form on this one! Great curve! Also like the size of the foot! The small size seems to give the form a lot of lift! Great effect! Beautiful wood and finish!
Saved to my favorites! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful piece and the form is excellent. Love the taper to the very small foot.... The before and after shot is a great idea too. Certainly looks better than its intended "fireplace form"...Bill..

Beautiful wood and a great, form. The narrow base is just narrow enough. I also admire your photography. Your photographs are always awesome.

That's beautiful! Your work is always an inspiration and so much so that when you favorably review something like the Easy Rougher I just get it. I keep looking at your website and set it as the mark of quality that I'm shooting for.

Thanks George. I use a home made Jamieson D-Handle Captive rig. I have made 5 handles to go with the 5 boring bars. Kinda like chucks, you can never have too many. I have a Sorby, a Jordan, two Pencil, all 3/4" bars and one 1-1/8" x 22" long Jamieson style bar. If you want any more info just let me know.

Keith, terrific piece again. The form is great and that musta been quite a sight and feeling on your fingers when that bark was flying of during the roughing.

Bet that one gave the Oneway a workout. Looks like it was quite a roughing task before things started looking round! I love the piece:)
