Three years ago I bought some shop equipment from someone over in the next town. Some stuff I needed and some things I resold. Well a 9' tall bandsaw with a 31" throat was definitely something that I had no use for. Now that I'm trying to prep larger wood chunks for turning, I have regretted selling that saw for a while. The other evening I was telling my friend David Christopher about the saw that passed through my hands when he said, "why don't you try to buy it back". So on Friday, I did just that. Today it took five people to load it, haul it, and unload it at my shop. The real challenge was standing it back upright. Here are a few pics of the saw that I've done a total 180 turnaround on whether I need it or not.......Tony

Wow! You should be able to cut pen blanks all day long on that one!

Just wondering....... when you power it up - do lights in the city dim?

Tony:
Wow! What a bandsaw! But you know what, I would kill  for a shop that size! That is a mansized bandsaw in a mansized shop. I am very envious. Good turning to you, sir.

All the best.

Now thats what I call a bandsaw. Hope it doesn't run on 550 as that is expensive to install. Have fun and good luck.

sure is beautiful. I can surely imagine it must have been real tough to move it around and lift it up. Congrats.

Before someone out there has a chance to suggest that maybe I'm over compensating for something else, let me be the first to say, maybe I am. It's something that I'm sure others can relate to. Well, you see, I have a little shop dog. Okay, I said it, and I feel better for doing it too. Now I can stop taking all those meds.;):):D

AS far as the blade length, I've been trying to locate my 50' tape to check that. Fortunately, the saw came with one blade so I can measure it instead of wrapping the tape around the wheels. I'll post that info when I have it........Tony

Tony, That thing is a giant! If I had a shop that big I would fill it with big toole too!! Great saw and hope the blades are affordable!!! You can get them custom made by some one.

How do you change blades? Do you need a latter and fork lift?

Looks great!

I now have some answers to your questions:

Steve->I will be sure to give a report on any power
black-outs as soon as I get her wired up.
(if your lights start to flicker, you'll already know)

Chris-->the blade measures 18 feet and 4 inches

Burt--->I just stood on a 5gal. bucket

Rick--->the saw sharpening service I use can get
any blade length that is needed
