Ok, so I went to Grizzly up in Springfield MO today, and got an awesome deal on the dewalt sanders. 5" ROS, and a 1/4 sheet sander for 69 dollars. So where's the best place to get paper? I was looking here..... http://www.woodworkingshop.com/cgi-bin/8ABC7362/mac/qryitems.mac/itemDisplay?lenSgDsc=45X8K5 X 8 HOLE HOOK AND LOOP DISCS&qryType=GRPSG&group=DISCS but I have no idea what the differences in all of that is. Some are 50 pks for 5 dollars, which seems too good to be true, and others are 50 pks for 35 dollars. So is there a better vendor than this site, and if not, what are the differences and advantages of these that are listed on these page? Thanks

Andy,

This is a direct link through the creeks amazon shopping program. This is the paper I bought when I bought my sander. It has worked real well, doesn't clog and last forever. The nice thing is there is a whole assorment of grits. Depending how much sanding you do, this box would last you a long time.

Last week I needed the same and just happened to be going thru my local Lowes. They had one of their crazy clearances going on - stacks of Gator orbital sandpaper. Picked up several 50 packs of different grits for $4.90 each. Also picked up what they had left of 10 yard self-adhesive sandpaper rolls for $5. each. Now I have a couple years supply. You might check out your local Lowes too. (However, one may have the sale and the next one won't.)

I was just at Lowes today. I don't have a local, this one was 70 miles away, ha! But the main reason I went was to look at the clearance stuff, they didn't have any, and their gator stuff was just normal priced, I do remember looking at that. I may just go with the amazon stuff, since it is an assortment of the grits i want, although it seems to be out of stock right now.

Also Brian Gumper at holbren.com gives a discount to woodnet (maybe smc too?) members (join and put woodnet in your order notes) and he sells Norton paper in 8 hole and H&L. He is a great guy to deal with.

The 8 hole also has a punch out for the center hole for Festool sanders as well.

My local Harbor Freight has Norton 3x H&L disks... Lasts long and cuts fast.

I'd avoid the Lowe's Gator Grit stuff, even at reduced prices.
