Luckliy, I was able to get over my cold in time to attend the 8th Annual Woodcarving and Woodturning Fair at the Tylersport Fire House, about 35 minutes away from my house. I watched a demonstration on multi-axis turning, a bunch of bowls and boxes and hollowforms being made on the 10 or so lathes throughout the hall, and bought a bunch of wood and burls. And the shelves full of turnings was plenty of inspiration and good ideas. I was also offered the oppuritunity to make a pen, probably something like my 200th pen, but it was fun nonetheless. My mother made her first pen (2nd picture, pen on the far left) and my brother his (2nd picture, pen in the middle). Mine is on the far right. My brother is hooked, and I can see my lathe getting alot of extra use.
