they are made by CoMatic, and CoMatic's are relabeled/painted many colors, Delta grey, Steel City grey, Accura white, Powermatic yellow, Grizzly green, and Sunhill/Oliver white/blue for just a few, I'm sure there are more (like maybe Maggi)

I believe that Maggi is still Maggi - the inspiration for CoMatic.

The Grizzly feeders are fine - I have a bunch of them - but the handles, handwheels and whatnot are cheaper than the Delta that I have. The Maggis are another step up in overall quality.

Ditto Roger on Co-matic and ditto J. R. on they'll work fine. The Maggi is much more expensive.. If I were going there I would get at least a 1 HP though...

Sarge..

I have a big maggi and a smaller Co-Matic.

Both are pretty decent quality. For Hobby use, a CoMatic should run forever...

I have a 0.5HP Hammer HC-308 feeder, it has plenty of power and has a large diameter, stiff support column.

It works great.

It's hard to imagine wearing out a feeder in a hobby, how much does it get used, one hour per month?

Regards, Rod.

$300 is Wayy Reasonable for a 1/2hp power feeder--IF it is in good conditon! It may be 3-phase. Make sure you can use it in your home shop.

I have a Grizzly 1HP, only problem is the slowest speed is not slow enough for some of the things I use it for. I use a few Steff/Maggi's at work with a wider speed range and it is a pleasure to be able to control the speed with an 8 speed feeder rather than a four speed. Co-matic makes 8 speed feeders but Grizzly does not seem to sell them.

Still, if it runs $300 seems like a good deal for any feeder 1/2HP or greater, I'd look at that seriously.
