Looking for a mini flashlight my wife to carry in her purse; she had one about the size of a cigarette lighter; the non-replaceable battery died after 5 years. Suggestions please.

Google search for Inova Microlight.

I've used them on 4 continents and they have never let me down. Small enought to fit on your wife's key-ring, or clip on a zipper pull so she doesn't have to fumble through her purse looking for it in the dark.

You should be able to get them for under $10 each.

The EO1 uses a AAA battery and puts out more light for longer than one of the coin cell lights. Other places to look:

Bob, the light that Joshua posted is what many of us have as a backup light over here. I carry both a white and a red version (red is for when I may need to preserve my night vision and/or enemy contact may be probable). They are cheap, reliable, and VERY bright. At leat over here, it's actually cheaper to buy a new one, than to replace the batteries!!!

Be well,

Doc

Check out the Streamlight Nanolight.

This thing is small and bright. And at this price you can own several and have one on each keyring.

I like it much better than the squeeze/pinch Photon type units.

WoodCraft is selling small 9 led torches for $3.95. I also saw the same thing in the local supermarket. I use it to peek inside hollow forms. The turn on easily with a switch on the rear handle.
