Worked! Sorry about this, but I just had to try for future use.

Hopefully your jointer table is not out of flat by the amouns shown on the tape.

Unfortunately, it is. I had a real problem getting a straight edge. I was told that it is within spec and was given the name of someone that might help adjust the tables.

Is the table aluminum or cast iron? It looks like cast aluminum, which can warp during machining if not properly cured and stress relieved after casting. The surface appears to be blanchard ground which would normally produce a flatter surface.

It is the actual table surface that is not flat. I couldn't figure out why I was unable to get edges that were perfectly straight as I had with other jointers I own. Finally, I put a straight edge across the tables and found that both infeed and outfeed were cupped in the middle. By the way, it's an FS30 that I purchased off the floor of the showroom about 3 years ago.
