View Full Version : Sanding window pane contours inbetween coats

I'm at a point of sanding inbetween coats of primer/top coats of some french doors. The flat surfaces aren't a problem, but when I go to uniformly sand the convex/concave surfaces of the multiple window panes, that's a different story. Surely there is a way to uniformly go across these surfaces inbetween coats. My result is like I am sanding only a high spot, or hitting only the highest point of the convex part of the curvature of the window pane. I bought a package of multiple shaped "soft sanders", but they obviously don't exactly fit that well, and trying to get into the corners isn't making me happy. Ideas and how do you guys do it please. Thanks for the help so far.

I usually use drywall sanding sponges. The 3M ones tend to work a bit better on paint, IMO.

Have you used Scotchbright pads?

John.
