Tryin to help a guy here at work. Has an old Craftsman 6" Planer Model 306.233820. Apparently it sheared a pin and also messed up the belt. The local service center fixed the pin but can't get the belt cause it's discontinued.

So now I am turning to the WW community for help...

Description: Poly V Belt, Part Number 3708479

Anyone have any thoughts? Maybe go to some local auto store or XYZ store and find a belt?

THANKS

I'd get in touch with Phylis at beltsforanything.com She recently helped me out in finding some belts for my TS. If you have the dimensions of the belt she should get you going.

V-belts are pretty generic! Take the belt to any hardware / bearing supply / auto supply store for a match!

If no belt available, measure around the outside of both pulleys to find its circumference/length. Measure across the widest part of the pulley groove to find width. (probably 1/2") Take the length/width measurements to find a match.

Jim:

Have you thought of a power twist link belt? You can get them in various lengths they are available at most woodworking stores.
