Would anyone happen to know why when I try to open a bmp file in photograv, only a black screen shows up?

Is the file in grayscale? Photograv processes only grayscale (8-bit).bmp image files.

3.0 will process color photos as well as .bmp, .jpg, tiff, and several others.

As to the question about the black image - does the image work in any other photo editors - Photoshop, Corel?
